UK Football Team - Arsenal FC 1990-91

What a season ! For the second time in two years the Football League Championship is back at Highbury. This time it happened with two gaines to spare after a roilercoaster season of high dass football, banner headlines and, of course, thé traditional neck and neck race with great rivals Liverpool. And now all the Panini stickers with the original comment of the 1990-91 album :


David SEAMAN
Joined for £1.3 million from QPR during the summer in a British record fee for a goalkeeper. Sure handler of the ball who dominates his area. International honours at Under 21 and full level. England World Cup squad member


Tony ADAMS
Extremely influential skipper at the heart of defence who has won England honours at Youth, Under 21 and full level. Composed leader with good distribution, he is very consistent, firm in the tackle and heads the ball well.


Lee DIXON
Cultured defender who likes to get forward at every opportunity. Signed from Stocke City for £400,000 in 1988 after previous experience with Burnley, Chester and Bury, he has played for England and is tipped for a bright international future.


Nigel WINTERBURN
Talented full-back signed from Wimbledon in 1987 for £400,000. Composed and stylish, his precision passing and excellent defensive qualities have earned him England recognition at Under-21 and full level. has also represented the Football League XI.


Andy LINIGHAN
England 'B' international who started his career with Hartlepool and played for Leeds before being signed from Norwich City during the close season for £1.2 million. Determined and brave with good heading ability, he is a born competitor.


Paul DAVIS
Arsenal youth product who has earned 11 England Under-21 caps. Composed with good control, he is an excellent passer of the ball and links well with his forwards. A busy player who is always involved in the action.


Siggi JONSSON
Highly skilled and creative player who was signed from Sheffield Wednesday for £750,000 last summer. Before he was 18 he had played for Iceland at all levels and in 1984 was transferred to Hillsborough from his local club I.A Akranes.


Michael THOMAS
Powerful and versatile player produced through Arsena's youth policy. Former England Schools captain who progressed through the Youth and Under-21 sides to full international recognition. His hard-working and strong tackling style make him a favourite with the fans.


David ROCASTLE
Former Arsenal apprentice who is now a player of world-class potential. Stylish play-maker who likes to take on opponents, distributes the ball well and possesses great vision. Last season's  Player of the Year, he has 11 full England Caps.


Anders LIMPAR
Swedish World Cup Star who was signed from Italian club Cremonese for 1£ million during the close season. A tricky winger-cum-midfielder, he is a rare handful for defences with his ability to score specatular goals


Paul MERSON
Another graduate of Arsenal's youth policy who has made his mark with his fine scoring record and keen eye for goal. Direct, with a flair for the unexpected, he made his debut in 1986 and has gone on to win England Under-21 Honours. 


Alan SMITH
Joined in 1987 from Leicester and has since built on his reputation as one of the League's leading marksmen. Very fast and a good finisher with either foot, he has 4 England caps.


George GRAHAM
Arrived in 1986 from Millwall and is now one of the most successfull managers in the game. Stylish Scottish international with 12 full caps whose clubs included Aston Villa, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Portsmouth












The following video is the Arsenal Title party. Given Liverpool's defeat at Nottingham Forest earlier in the day, Arsenal kicked off this game knowing that they were already champions. So, it was a night of celebration at Highbury and Alan Smith, in particular, enjoyed the party
