Father & Son : The SMOLAREK

Włodzimierz SMOLAREK was a Polish footballer who was one of the most highly regarded Polish football players. Smolarek played for clubs such as Widzew Łódź, Legia Warsaw, Eintracht Frankfurt (West Germany), Feyenoord Rotterdam (Netherlands) and FC Utrecht (Netherlands). He played 60 matches for the Polish national team. Smolarek was a participant at the 1982 FIFA World Cup, where Poland won the third place. This is during this 1982 World Cup than Smolarek has been revealed as a world class player. He played also the 1986 FIFA World Cup and he was the better player of a very disapointing Poland team.Then after ending his career, Smolarek worked for Feyenoord, coaching youth. In October 2009 he was hired by the Polish Football Association to oversee the Polish youth program but he died in 2012 at only 54. His son Euzebiusz Smolarek is also a Polish footballer and like his father he's a brilliant striker. He has played 47 times for the Polish national football team. His father call him Euzebiusz i testimony of the great Portuguese footballer Eusébio.
