UK Football Team - West Bromwich Albion 1978

A very nice exercise for West Bromwich Albion during this 1977-78 season. In the first half of the season WBA was just behind the top two teams of the league, Nottingham Forest and Everton. And the Baggies were also brilliant in the FA CUP. In the fourth round, holders Manchester United are held to a 1–1 draw at home by West Bromwich Albion then the Throstles beat Manchester United 3–2 in the FA Cup fourth round replay. And they were stronger one month later when they also beat Nottingham Forest (Future champion) 2–0 at The Hawthorns in the FA Cup sixth round. The big adventure stopped in semi-final versus Ipswich Town but with a 6th rank in First Division and a semi-final in FA CUP, WBA had a complete season with famous players like Tony Brown or an Old School Panini’s icon Willie Johnston but there is also some brilliant young players like legend Bryan Robson or Laurie Cunnigham and don’t forget the debutant Cyrille Regis. The 19-year-old French Guyana born striker, makes his debut the 3rd September 1977, for West Bromwich Albion against Middlesbrough at home in the First Division, scoring in a 2–1 win. A very strong team with many brilliants players and now the West Bromwich Albion 1978 roster by Panini :
