A huge season for Forest in 1991-92. In July 1991, Nottignham strikes strong : Nottingham Forest pay a club record £2million for Millwall striker Teddy Sheringham, who was the Football League's top goalscorer the season before. And two years after the last win of Forest in league Cup, the team was brilliant in this competition again. Teddy Sheringham scored a hat-trick for Nottingham Forest as they beat Crystal Palace 4–2 in the League Cup quarter-final at the City Ground. In semi-final Nottingham Forest won at White Hart Lane versus the Spurs (2-1). Nigel CLOUGH scored the first goal and with a splendid free-kick, Suart PEARCE gave the victory to Forest. But two weeks later versus Southampton, Forest lose defender Stuart Pearce for the rest of the season with a knee injury and lost the league cup final versus Manchester United one month after. A disapointing end for this young team with future great players as Sheringham or Roy Keane. But for your pleasure the free kick of Stuart Pearce at White Hart Lane in League Cup semi-final
