Top Ten : Before they crossed the Channel

Old School Panini à l'heure internationale !

In front of a huge growth of Old School Panini's audience in Great Britain and United States I decide for the first time in my blog history to write a topic in English. By this way I want to be grateful for all my new english spoken followers. But as I explain in french just before, I have some difficulties to write in my mother tongue so I let you imagine in english....please give me a chance ! For this first english topic I want to resurrect the "ENTENTE CORDIALE" and I'm sure you will enjoy by this. Here they comes famous footballers in Great Britain, you know them as a Gunner, a Red Devil or a Citizen but before they crossed the channel they were french club formers. I find in my Panini treasure the best of young and haired faces for your pleasure. So we can begin :

10 - Thierry HENRY
Before to be the great striker of Arsenal, Henry was a Monaco's former. There is this first Panini sticker in 1997

9 - Sébastien PEREZ
Perez is a Saint-Etienne former but he played at Bastia before loaned at Blackburn. The sticker below is in 1997 the year before he crossed the Channel

8 - Ousmane DABO

7 - Eric CANTONA
Eric the King with Auxerre in 1986

6 - Antoine SIBIERSKI
Lille 1995

5 - Steve MARLET
Auxerre 1997

4 - Pascal CYGAN
Oustanding picture may be the only one with an haired face (Lille 1996)

3 - Syvlain WILTORD
With his former club, Rennes in 1996

2 - Fabien BARTHEZ
Fabulous Fab with Marseille in 1994

1 - Franck LEBOEUF
My favourite one ! Francl LEBOEUF started with Laavl but in Division 2 and at this time there was not Panini stickers for sub-divsion in France. But it doesn't really matters because the year after he moved at Strasbourg and now we can admire his perfect mulet (1993) :

Bonus : We exporte many players in England but also managers, here they comes the 3 famous I think, Arsène Wenger (Nancy 1985), Gérard Houiller (Lens 1983) and, the most marvelous, Jaques "Charles Bronson" Santini (St-Etienne 1976)
